This week we had external examiners come in and talk to us about our progress so far and how we have found the first couple of months of fourth year. It was a good way to speak over and refresh myself after a couple of weeks break over Christmas. It was a good way to narrow down and explain everything I have done so far in a condensed version to people that have never heard about my project before.

The advice I was given was useful; I need to start narrowing down my research and introduce new ways that I can generate further insights. I also need to think about the narrative of my project, and how I interpret the data gather. I need to decide whether I want to interpret the stories gathered in my own way, or whether I want the users input.

I need to start looking at different ways in which I can gather more primary research and information about sexual harassment. I then need to use this information to generate insights and think about how they will help scope out some potential ideas for my final concept.

I need to start thinking about who am I designing for and what will they get out of the experience I create.

Next Steps:

  • Gather more primary research

  • Generate insights

  • Explore data visualisation techniques

  • Consider how I will display the data I gather in regards to my final concept
