In this studio course we learned history and methods particular to practices of brand positioning and marketing communication. We applied fundamentals of brand strategy to the process of differentiating branded offerings through design.
Brand Communication combined brand theory and practical application of a brand. An existing brand is analysed via an in-depth case study, establishing how and what it visually communicates to its targeted audiences. This is followed by a 'live' scenario where produce brand communications are designed following a client brief.
1. Defining a brand - ecostore:
In this assignment Alicia Bidlake and I studied the brand 'ecostore'. We explored their brand history, target audience, brand identity, consumers, packaging and marketing to determine an overall brand essence. To present our work we designed a dossier with colours, typefaces and hand drawn motifs to further represent how we understood the brand.

2. Creating a brand - Scoff Cookies:
For the second assignment of this project we had to redesign the brand 'Ernest Adams' and make it more appealing and relevant to current trends. We had to come up with a concept for a new range of cookies and make sure we thoroughly understood the brand using the techniques we had learned and put to use in the first assignment.
